2010 MBC Research Program
Our organization "A Man's Pink" and website, along with "Out of the Shadow of Pink" have been asked to participate in a MBC research program which will be conducted by the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center in Boston MA, which will focus on the physical and psychologic consequences of male breast cancer diagnoses and is scheduled to begin in the Fall of 2010.
The first stage of this program will involve a survey to be completed by MBC patients and survivors online which will eventually offer much needed information to provide improved diagnosis and treatment for men diagnosed with breast cancer. The link to the survey is below. Click on the link below to initiate the survey.

May, 2011
Dr. Ruddy and colleagues at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute conducted a web-based survey of male breast cancer survivors (which was available on line from November 10, 2010, until February 10 2011), to investigate how the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer uniquely impacts men's physical and emotional health. Forty-two men from 16 states and four countries responded to this survey, which included questions about socio-demographics and lifestyle as well as validated scales for depression (HADS-depression), anxiety (HADS-anxiety), quality of life (FACT-B), sexual side effects (EPIC-Sexual), and hormonal symptoms (EPIC-Hormonal). Data analysis is ongoing.
